Tetra Test KH reliably and precisely measures the carbonate hardness (KH) in freshwater and saltwater aquariums. KH acts as a pH buffer and prevents sudden drops in pH value – a so-called acid crash – which can be life-threatening for fish and invertebrates. The ideal KH value for ornamental fish is between 3 and 10° dKH.
The test is liquid and drop-based, with good long-term stability. Suitable for routine checks in all types of freshwater and saltwater aquariums, including reef aquariums where stable alkalinity is crucial for coral growth.
Instructions for use
Fill the included cuvette with a water sample. Add the reagent solution drop by drop and count the number of drops until the color change occurs. The number of drops corresponds to the KH value in °dKH.
