Tetra Test NO2 reliably and precisely measures the nitrite content in freshwater and saltwater aquariums. Nitrite is formed when ammonia is broken down by filter bacteria – a natural part of the nitrogen cycle. Even at values above 0.3 mg/l, nitrite can cause long-term damage to fish, especially in newly established aquariums where the bacterial culture is not yet established.
The test is liquid and color-based: the water sample is compared to a color scale from yellow to red with 5 steps, covering a measuring range from 0.3 to 33 mg/l NO2.
Instructions for Use
Take a water sample in the included plastic cuvette. Add reagent liquid according to the instructions, shake and compare the color with the included color chart after the specified waiting time.
