B. Braun Sodium Chloride 9 mg/ml (0.9% NaCl) is a sterile, isotonic (physiological) saline solution. Both sizes have the same concentration – the only difference is the volume.

- 10 ml (0.9% NaCl): 90 mg sodium chloride (0.09 g)
- 250 ml (0.9% NaCl): 2250 mg sodium chloride (2.25 g)
Important to know
- Same strength: 10 ml and 250 ml are both 0.9% NaCl. A larger bottle does not mean a stronger solution.
- Physiological (isotonic): Adapted to the salt content of body fluids.
- Sterility: Use sterile solution for wounds and mucous membranes. Homemade saline is not sterile and rarely exactly 0.9%.
- Single use after opening: Use immediately after opening unless otherwise specified on the packaging.
